Course Description

This joint honours BA in Education and History will expose you to the broad spectrum of topics in education which include sociological, psychological and education factors and the fascinating sweep of history from ancient times to the present day, whilst equipping you with the knowledge required to communicate your subject. This course is perfect for aspiring teachers, tutors and lecturers with a particular interest in history. Also, as long as you meet the entry requirements, you will be guaranteed an interview for Primary or Secondary PGCE at Aberystwyth.).

You will be taught by our friendly staff who come from a variety of backgrounds which include teaching and lecturing. You will also be exposed to our researchers who are active in their chosen specialist areas. We offer you opportunities to engage with a wide range of modules that span several areas of History such as the French revolution, the British Empire, 20th Century Russia and many more .

You will have the opportunity to explore educational theory - philosophical and conceptual ideas that inform, challenge and question the ways we read. Our students can explore the opportunities with the School of Education's partnerships with schools, communities across the UK and Wales. We have one of the biggest libraries in the world, the National Library of Wales, on our doorstep.
