Course Description
Sociology and Criminology/Criminal Justice is a bilingual degree. The degree offers an understanding of the study of society, institutions, life and social groups in relation to crime, violence, victims and social harm. By using empirical research and critical analysis we come to understand how society deals with criminality, social control, policing and punishment.
The degree offers the best of both field disciplines providing a rich programme, experience, flexibility and depth of knowledge and understanding to work bilingually nationally and internationally. There are 100 credits available for you to study through Welsh annually while pursuing this degree if you wish. There is a real strong linguistic choice available when choosing this degree.
'International Experience Year' and 'Year on Placement' options are available for this course. You will have the opportunity to consider these options fully after starting your course in Bangor and you can apply to transfer to one of these options at the appropriate time.
