Course Description
As an English Literature, Theatre and Performance student at Bangor, you will develop your individual interests in aspects of literature, drama and theatre. You will explore a wide range of practice including devising, community theatre, acting skills and solo and group performance. This work is underpinned by the critical study of literature, and drama from a range of historical periods from the medieval to the contemporary. Modules combine the creative and performative with a critical grounding in major theatre.
As you progress, you can select modules that help you to maintain a wide-ranging approach, or you can specialise in specific subjects or literary forms. Either way, modules options in English Literature and Theatre and Performance are designed to complement each other, honing your skills in performance, writing, critical thinking, theorising, research analysis, and debate.
‘Placement Year’ and 'International Experience Year’ options are available for this course. You will have the opportunity to fully consider these options when you have started your course at Bangor and can make an application for a transfer onto such a pathway at the appropriate time. Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)
Including a relevant subject/science @ C or above (80 UCAS tariff points)
31-30 overall or 665-655 in 3 HL subjects.
We are happy to accept combinations of the qualifications listed above, as well as alternative Level 3 qualifications such as City & Guilds, Access and Cambridge Technical Diplomas. We also welcome applications from mature learners. If you don't think you'll meet the entry requirements specified, you may be able to gain entry to this course via a Foundation Year route. Founded in 1884 in Bangor, Wales, Bangor University offers strong support when it comes to student research initiatives.
