Do you want to produce live performance? This postgraduate course is for producers at all stages of their career.

Want to get your creative ideas to an audience? Through this postgraduate course in Creative Producing, we’ll teach you the core skills you need to get your work to market, as well as helping you develop industry contacts.

Creative Producers are in demand more than ever, as they are vital to the innovation and sustainability of the cultural industries. This MA Creative Producing programme is for producers at all stages of their career.

If you’re a new or early career producer, you’ll learn and develop skills to enhance your creative vision, artistic judgement, business skills and acumen. If you’re an established producer, you’ll be able to develop, evaluate and reflect on your own practice. In addition, you’ll expand your artistic and market awareness by gaining insights into innovative artistic practices.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES The course is geared towards giving you the skills you need to develop a freelance career as a Creative Producer.

You’ll be assessed by a range of methods that include: Performance Project; Proposal documents for funding, business plans, strategy or artistic ideas; Research projects; Presentations; Viva voce; Reflective learning and work-based reports or journals; Project evaluations

This MA Creative Producing programme is for producers at all stages of their career, from those with a desire to work in live performance, to those with existing producing experience. Applicants will normally have a strong first degree in a relevant subject, but extensive relevant work experience will also be considered.

Visa Requirements for International Students

Visa requirement

All international students (including citizens from EU countries) intending to study this or any other academic programme for more than 6 months in the UK require a Student Visa.

International students younger than 18 years require a special Child Student Visa. Exceptions from this general rule may apply to holders of other UK work visas, British National Overseas visa, family member visa and recognised refugees or asylum seekers.

Permission to work while studying

Bath Spa University is listed by the UK government as an institution licensed to sponsor migrant students.

Student visa holders from licensed institutions are entitled to work during their full-time bachelor's, master's or Phd studies for
- 20h/week during the term
- Full-time outside term time (e.g. vacations, work placements, once course ended)

After completion of a bachelor's or master's programme of at least 12 months Student Visa holders of licensed institutions can convert their visa into a Graduate Visa which entitles graduates to work for 2 years in the UK.

London costs approx 34% more than average, mainly due to rent being 67% higher than average of other cities. For students staying in student halls, costs of water, gas, electricity, wifi are generally included in the rental. Students in smaller cities where accommodation is in walking/biking distance transport costs tend to be significantly smaller.
