Course Description

This course can be studied full-time over 1 year, achieving a Higher National Certificate in Public Services qualification, or over 2 years, achieving a Higher National Diploma in Public Services qualification.

This course will appeal to anyone who is either considering a career in the uniformed public services or who aspires to being involved in a management role in a public services-related career. Upon successful completion you would be considered for advanced entry onto a relevant degree.

This course looks in-depth at the skills required in the management of the public services, whether this is within uniformed or non-uniformed public services, e.g. Armed Forces, Emergency Services, Customs and Excise or the Home Office. Should you want to join the Armed Forces as an officer, or consider any of the other uniformed or non-uniformed public services, then this course will enhance your teamwork and leadership skills and set you up with the confidence and personal development to attain your goals. You will be introduced to all aspects of public service work and at the end of this course, you should be able to make an informed judgement on your choice of career.
