The popular MSc Financial Management programme is suitable for anyone wishing to acquire knowledge within the realm of business, management and finance. The aim of the programme is enhance knowledge and understanding of finance, which can be applied to complex issues in order to improve business and management practice. The programme offers a suite of optional module and pathways, which will enable learners to tailor their programme to suit their individual needs and interest.

All the Finance based Masters programmes within the School of Management have full access to the Financial Times on-line.

Grading & Study Time

The assessments for this programme are many and varied as would be expected with 6 core modules and 13 options. Within the cores you will have 3 three hour examinations, essays, reflective logs and an assessed role play exercise.

Get advice on which foundation courses are best for you to still study Financial Management, PgDip, if you do not meet the minimum requirements in terms of UCAS score, A levels, or English language requirements.

Prospective students should hold an undergraduate degree (normally of classification 2:1 or above) or its equivalent in a relevant area e.g. Accounting, Finance or Business Studies with a substantive finance element, or: Five years relevant work experience in the field of finance, or:

Suitable professional qualifications from bodies such as ACCA, CII, CFA, IFS etc. In some instances those with higher level professional qualifications may be exempt from several taught modules. Such exemptions would be discussed on a case by case basis with the Programme Director. In general terms graduates from non-financial disciplines will not normally have the pre-existing skills set to succeed on the programme BUT such students are welcome to apply and such applications will be viewed on an individual basis. International Students: Students whose first language is NOT English will need to provide evidence of fluency to at least an IELTS 6.0 standard.​

London costs approx 34% more than average, mainly due to rent being 67% higher than average of other cities. For students staying in student halls, costs of water, gas, electricity, wifi are generally included in the rental. Students in smaller cities where accommodation is in walking/biking distance transport costs tend to be significantly smaller.
