Course Description
This BSc (Hons) Virtual & Augmented Reality course will enable you to explore the ever-changing landscape of virtual and augmented reality, equipping you with the knowledge and strategic mindset to create new VR and AR applications and experiences.
As you progress through the course, you will hone the skills that will allow you to explore and develop your own ideas, as well as understand the business and career opportunities that exist in the VR/AR and wider IT industries. You will learn the underlying Computer Science and Software Engineering fundamentals needed to develop real-time applications, together with essential UI / UX design principles. You will use different languages, including Python and C/C , apply real-time graphics techniques, and program spatial audio systems to bring to life your immersive experiences. Through the exploration of human-computer interaction, you will learn how gestures can be used to create interactive experiences. You will also get practical knowledge in software project management, as well as the industry standard tools and techniques used to create VR and AR applications.
The programme is industry focused, offering opportunities for industrial placements, and is designed to allow accreditation by the British Computer Society. Graduates will find a wide variety of career opportunities within the computer, IT and telecoms sector, as well as the majority of the other industrial sectors, including the digital/creative industries, financial and professional services, advanced manufacturing, engineering and management consultancy.
Entry Requirements / Admissions
Minimum Required UCAS Tariff
104-112 points to include two C grades at A level or equivalent.
Qualification requirements
Including a relevant subject/science @ C or above (80 UCAS tariff points)
M in T Level Health, Healthcare Science, or Science.
Access to HE Diploma
Including one in a relevant subject/science (80 UCAS tariff points)
31-30 overall or 665-655 in 3 HL subjects.
Including one in a relevant subject/science (90 UCAS tariff points)
The Welsh Baccalaureate Skills Challenge Certificate will be accepted in lieu of one A Level at the A Level grades specified, excluding any subject specific requirements.

London costs approx 34% more than average, mainly due to rent being 67% higher than average of other cities. For students staying in student halls, costs of water, gas, electricity, wifi are generally included in the rental.
