Course Description
By combining the Welsh language and Journalism, you will gain a wealth of knowledge and transferable skills, opening doors to a variety of career paths.
Studying an honors degree can be stimulating and rewarding, as you notice similarities and differences between the two subjects.
The Welsh language course is relevant to contemporary Wales and is taught by a School that has been recognized for the quality and impact of its research. The aim of the course is to produce graduates who have a thorough understanding (academicly and practically) of the Welsh language, its literature and culture, a high level of oral and written linguistic skills, and developed employability and creative skills which relevant to modern Wales.
It offers core and optional modules to give you a foundation in terms of language and literature, as well as an opportunity to specialize in areas of personal interest or in terms of your career.
The overall aim of Journalism is to equip students to become informed citizens in a media-saturated society. It starts with the premise that we need to understand the central role played by the media and the cultural industries in order to understand modern society.
You will be able to take some practical modules, but the emphasis of the degree is academic and analytical.
