Study English literature from Shakespeare to contemporary popular culture, via classic works of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. You’ll learn about these texts in their cultural-historical contexts and within wider theoretical frameworks, considering the ways they function in society. You’ll study English within exciting interdisciplinary contexts and benefit from the wide range of subject expertise within the English group.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

Including one in a relevant subject/science (90 UCAS tariff points)

Minimum Year 1 Entry Requirements HNC - Pass in a related subject with B in the graded unit. Minimum Year 2 Entry Requirements SQA Advanced Highers at BBC including English at Grade B. BTEC (QCF) Extended Diploma with DDD in a related subject plus A Level Grade B in English. GCE A-Levels at AAB including English. Our entry requirements indicate both Standard and Minimum qualifications with which we normally accept students. Competition for places varies from year to year and you aren't guaranteed a place if you meet the minimum qualifications.
