Course Description
Software engineering plays a fundamental role in computing. It opens up a world of career opportunities, across a wide range of industries and business sectors.
Throughout the course you’ll learn both mainstream and emerging software development, implementation and evolution - from design and analysis to human interaction principles and system evaluation. Your study will be supported by input and guidance from industry experienced teaching staff.
On successful completion of this programme you will have the knowledge, understanding and skills to gain graduate-level employment in a wide range of private and public sector organisations. Recent graduates from our Software Engineering course have found employment as software engineers (developer, designer, tester and maintainer), software support analysts, project managers and trainee IT consultants; and several have gained entry to prestigious management trainee programmes with large employers.

HNC in Care and Administrative Practice or Applied Science with B required in graded unit for entry to Year 1 Sufficient science and discursive subjects and a strong academic profile to be competitive. English and Maths at least at National 5 Grade B.
BTEC Level 3 National Diploma: DD plus A Level English at grade B. Preferred:- Performing Arts, Art & Design, Digital Film and Video Production,Business IT, Applied Science,Sport, Sport and Exercise Science
31-30 overall or 665-655 in 3 HL subjects.
Minimum Year 2 Entry Requirements
HNC - Pass in Computing, Computer Games Development, Software Development, Data Analytics with B in the graded unit.
SQA Advanced Higher - BBC
A Level - BBB
BTEC Extended Dip DDD in a related subject
Minimum Year 3 Entry Requirements
HND Computing: Software Development - Pass with Grade B at SCQF Level 8 in the graded unit.
