Course Description

This programme has been developed with the building services industry to ensure graduates are well equipped to enter the employment market in professional, well paid positions.

It offers you flexibility with a full-time option or a part-time option for engineers who are currently employed and want to improve their knowledge and skills.

The programme focuses on heating and air conditioning system design, building performance simulation and assessment, electrical systems and lighting design.

It is accredited by the Energy Institute and the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) so you can progress towards full Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

You have the option of completing work placements abroad. Study in the final year of the BEng may be sponsored by industry.

Qualification requirements

Year 2 Entry: BBC including Maths and Physics plus GCSE English at C/4

HNC in either Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering. Other related HNC qualifications may be considered.

HND in either Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering or Sustainable Design with B in Graded Unit. Other related HND qualifications may be considered.

Year 2 Entry: 30 points including 2 subjects at HL including Maths or Physics, one at SL and one at HL. SL English required

For Year 2 Entry: Level 3 Extended Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering at DMM

This programme is only accepting advanced entry applications and there is no Year 1 intake
