Course Description

Social workers make pivotal contributions to society by enabling children, adults and families to achieve their potential.

This programme allows you to qualify as a social worker, eligible for professional registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and other UK Care Councils.

Employment opportunities include working within local authorities in areas such as children and families, criminal justice, mental health and adult care, as well as the third and private sectors. The employment statistics for graduates from this programme are excellent.

We employ a wide range of stimulating and engaging assessment methods, including video-work, written assignments, verbal presentations and simulations that enable students to develop the skills and knowledge they need for the professional social worker role.

Accredited by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for the purpose of fully meeting the educational requirements for registration with this body.

HNC in Care and Administrative Practice or Applied Science with B required in graded unit for entry to Year 1 Sufficient science and discursive subjects and a strong academic profile to be competitive. English and Maths at least at National 5 Grade B.
