Key Course Facts

Course Description

This course is primarily designed for face to face learning with you attending your lessons for the specified hours within the validation document. However, there may be periods of study where the government advises TEC Partnership that it is not safe to open campuses or there is limited access due to social distancing measures. If the Campus is closed TEC Partnership will continue to deliver your sessions online and offer you the necessary support and resources remotely. If there is limited access due to social distancing measures a blended model will be adopted with some lessons happening in small groups and others happening using online sessions and support.

'Be the games industry .'

The video game Industry and the creation and distribution of video games have changed beyond all recognition in the past ten years. No longer is the route to employment solely through the behemoths that publish AAA games, costing millions to make and bring to market. With the viability of game creation tools now available to all there has never been a time where it has been easier to get into the industry.

The challenge now is to stand out in such a crowded space. Knowing the theory and practical skills to lift you above others is where the Game Design degrees at the University Centre Grimsby step in. Structured to offer two distinct, yet complimentary pathways, it is designed to maximise students’ potential employability while still allowing them to shape their own development and skills. It also allows for natural cross-fertilisation between artists and coders, allowing students to build up mutual networks and awareness of other disciplines within game development.

The Games Art pathway will focus on developing learner's digital and practical art skills for game design and development.
