Course Description

Heriot-Watt University is ranked 2nd in Scotland and 12th in the UK for European Languages (the National Student Survey 2014). 84% of our students expressed overall satisfaction with this programme. 85% were in work/study within six months of completing the programme, with 90% of those in work in a professional or managerial position. During third year you will spend one semester studying abroad at one of our exchange partners, and the other semester on a BSL placement in the UK. Graduates successfully completing all specified components of this programme are able to register as full Members of the Register of Sign Language Interpreters with NRCPD, the national registration body in the UK for sign language interpreting, and also with SASLI (Scottish Association of Sign Language interpreters).
