Course Description
Reasons to choose Kingston: – This course provides many opportunities to work on live projects with organisations outside the University. – You will benefit from site visits and visiting speakers from a wide range of organisations that further sustainability. There are collaborations with partners such as the Design Council, Futerra, Greengaged, the Sorrell Foundation, ThinkPublic, Uscreates and Active Minds. – This course is distinctive through a focus on multi-disciplinary, socially-led design for sustainable change.
About this course: If you are a designer or creative worker, and seek to direct your practice towards sustainability and social agendas, this course is ideal.
It focuses on the value of design in addressing social and ecological concerns in both developed and developing world settings. You will gain an applied understanding of key sustainable design principles, perspectives and practices.
The course is delivered through design projects, lectures, seminars, workshops and site visits. You will study alongside students from all creative and design backgrounds. Throughout the course, you are encouraged to work with external partners and organisations, for real world learning.

About Kingston University
Founded in 1899, Kingston University is located in the suburban town of Kingston upon Thames, London. The university’s four campuses can be found in and around the town centre, with a free shuttle bus helping students to get there. This university offers what they call Flexi-stay accommodation, which allows students to book rooms in their residence halls for periods in which they expect to be studying exceptionally hard.
