Designed to reflect industry demands, our degree programme supports one of the new mandatory entry routes to becoming a police constable. Acquire the skills needed to advance and prepare for a thrilling and fulfilling career within the police force or associated criminal agencies.

Our Policing Foundation Degree is crafted in-line with the College of Policing recruitment requirements, equipping you for employment in the police force or other criminal agencies. You will study academic and technical modules broadening your understanding of policing, psychology, crime, criminal law and the justice system. Our range of modules allow you to forge your own career path within the force or other criminal agencies. Our exceptional support, emphasis on personal development and consideration of the Policing Education Qualifications Framework, will provide you with essential skills and increase your employability. With this foundation degree, you will also be encouraged to engage in voluntary schemes available through West Yorkshire Police to gain practical skills. You will acquire critical knowledge and practical experience allowing you to progress to a top-up degree, industry qualifications or directly into employment.

Continuous assessment ensures that your progress is monitored throughout the modules with personal tutor support. A variety of assessment methods are used, including presentations, role-plays, professional discussions, portfolios and reports.
