Course Description
The Education (Interdisciplinary Studies) block is designed for practising teachers, educators and others with a personal or professional interest in the field of education. The block aims to provide opportunities for engagement with the key theories, concepts and ideas in education.
This block is part of the ‘Interdisciplinary Studies in Education’ suite of research-informed Masters provision. It offers each student a choice of awards that means they can tailor the available provision to their own research interests.
By studying at Liverpool Hope University, you will be joining an academic community with a strong record in educational research. You will study in a supportive learning environment and be encouraged to develop your own research profile.
The delivery pattern on the Masters programme is flexible to suit the needs of our students. Normally our classes run in the evenings typically Mondays to Thursdays. The number of evenings you attend will depend on whether you choose to do the course full time or part time.
Our Education block must be combined with one of the following blocks and indicated on your application form.

- Disability Studies
- Early Childhood
- Education Leadership and Management
- Special Educational Needs
Pedagogy is not available to study alongside Education (Interdisciplinary Studies).

About Liverpool Hope University
Liverpool Hope University, also known as Hope, was founded in 1844 on the outskirts of Liverpool. Hope is formally affiliated with the Christian-Ecumenical religion, and provides spaces to practice your faith, including the EDEN building and Hope Chapel. Applicants can expect to find 12 research centres here, 2 modern libraries with knowledgeable librarian staff, and all of the on-site amenities you would expect as a student. Whenever you need some time away from the campus in your free time, Liverpool’s vibrant City Centre is just a 40-minute bus ride away.
