Course Description
Please note that Combined Honours degrees at Liverpool Hope University are split 50/50. This means both subjects will be studied equally.
History Our History degree gives you the opportunity to study a wide-range of historical periods and topics with elements in British, Irish, European and International History from the late medieval age to the twentieth century. By studying with us, you will engage with a wide variety of historical evidence throughout the whole of your degree programme. You will benefit from being taught by a team of recognised scholars and experts in their fields who are dedicated and experienced teachers and researchers and regular publishers of their research.
Throughout your degree, you will be able to take advantage of the rich library, archival, museum and heritage resources available in Liverpool and further afield, as well as benefit from our partnership with National Museums Liverpool. Working with the staff and resources of the many museums in Liverpool forms an important part of your learning experiences. There are a range of fieldwork activities every year in the local area and beyond, and offers the opportunity for study visits to major European cities each year.
Nutrition Nutrition and the health of the nation is a topic that is prevalent in today’s society. Our Nutrition degree is focused on developing graduates who are able to face the changing environment of contemporary workplaces, especially in consideration with the changes within the health system. This degree is ideal for those who would like to become a professional nutritionist, or progress to further studies in the area of human nutrition, dietetics, public health or food science. The curriculum includes a focus on the delivery of five core competencies in nutritional science, food chain, social and behaviour sciences, health and wellbeing, and professional conduct. You will be taught in our new Health Sciences building, which features specialist laboratories dedicated to nutrition. You will learn from a highly committed team of research- active registered nutritionists with practical experience in nutrition, who are enthusiastic about both the academic subject and the quality of your student experience.

About Liverpool Hope University
Liverpool Hope University, also known as Hope, was founded in 1844 on the outskirts of Liverpool. Hope is formally affiliated with the Christian-Ecumenical religion, and provides spaces to practice your faith, including the EDEN building and Hope Chapel. Applicants can expect to find 12 research centres here, 2 modern libraries with knowledgeable librarian staff, and all of the on-site amenities you would expect as a student. Whenever you need some time away from the campus in your free time, Liverpool’s vibrant City Centre is just a 40-minute bus ride away.
