Course Description
The BA in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) qualifies you to teach children aged 5-11. This course will extend both your subject knowledge as well as pedagogical knowledge in all curriculum areas in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Professional studies modules each year form the backbone of the course and prepare you for the academic and professional role of being a teacher.

- You will be qualified to teach all subjects within the Primary National Curriculum as well as learning about the professional and legal responsibilities of being a teacher

Prior to applying for the programme applicants must have obtained Grade C or Grade 4 or above in English Language, Mathematics and Science GCSE or an approved alternative qualification. Please email [email protected] to check your equivalence qualification prior to applying. All applications must meet the minimum academic entry requirements. Deciding to pursue a career in teaching should be based on a real commitment and passion and this should be demonstrated through your personal statement. Personal statements should have a clear structure with evidence of paragraphs and good use of grammar. In your personal statement we hope to see your enthusiasm for primary teaching with evidence of any experiences which have informed your decision to become a teacher. A minimum of five days work experience in a UK primary school prior to commencing the programme will be helpful (but not essential).
