The Advanced Architectural Design MSc provides the resources for you to gain further skills in architectural design.

About this course Our MSc Advanced Architectural Design is a degree course for international designers to enhance their design and research skills in the environment of one of the UK’s leading Schools of Architecture (ranked by QS in the World’s Top 100 in 2019). The course helps you consolidate your own identity as a designer, and develop your own distinctive specialisms through research-led design, in a world where successful architects increasingly have to be specialists as well as generalists. Our aim is to help you become a leading architect in the profession.

The course offers a set of innovative, absorbing, research-led pathways in advanced architectural design. You can choose one of the following pathways:

Architecture and Cities Property Development.

Further details of each pathway is provided below. There is a balance of shared and specialist teaching across all the pathways. Most of these are one-year pathways, and we also offer a two-year pathway in Architecture and Cities.

FACILITIES: The School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape has excellent studio teaching facilities. Our facilities include:

lively design studios exhibition spaces well-equipped workshop including the latest digital manufacturing technology wet fabrication lab including 3D printers molecular biology lab (one of the first in the world to be administered by a school of architecture) print media suite IT suites.

Accredited by the General Medical Council (GMC), this primary medical qualification entitles the holder to apply to the GMC for registration to practise medicine in the UK.
