Course Description

This course aims to give students advanced knowledge of cellular systems. Applicants learn about the pathogenesis of cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and kidney fibrosis, along with an exploration of current approaches to cancer gene therapy and immunotherapy.

Taught modules are assessed by a variety of different types of course work including written assignments, oral presentations and poster presentations, and examinations. The research project will involve the design, implementation and reporting of a major research task as a thesis and presentation orally and/or as a poster.

A UK honours degree (minimum 2.1) or higher qualification in a Biological subject, plus laboratory experience gained through employment or an undergraduate research project. Appropriate experience or other relevant qualifications will also be considered. Applicants whose first language is not English should have an IELTS score of 6.5.
