Course Description

This Art and Design BA Hons final year degree programme is offered as a top-up qualification for learners who have gained a relevant FdA, HND or equivalent qualification and who want to continue studying to Honours level. The course is delivered through four modules, which, in addition to further developing and refining your own art and design practice, will offer invaluable professional and business knowledge relevant to working as a creative practitioner. Studio practice remains key throughout this year with lecturers providing guidance and advice through individual and group tutorials. Learners are encouraged to actively engage with external ventures, identifying specific audiences and/or clients and gaining the necessary skills and knowledge that will fully support their future professional careers.

The course provides you with opportunities to test your understanding of the subject informally before you complete the formal assessments that count towards your final mark. Assessment methods include and a range of coursework assessments such as a technical file, portfolios, presentations and your final year major project. All assessment are spread across the year to make the workload manageable

In Art, or related subjects.

ALL applicants must possess a Level 5 qualification, such as an HND or FdA in a relevant area in order to be considered for this course. A copy of your HND/FdA module transcripts will be requested, and the original required to be seen at enrolment.

English language requirements

IELTS (Academic) 7 IELTS - an overall band score of 7.0, with none of the four skills below 6.5.
