Course Description

Physiotherapists help people rehabilitate and regain movement after an illness or injury, treating patients with muscle and skeletal injuries, as well as with neurological and breathing problems.

This course is suited to graduates of health and life science disciplines who want to pursue a career in physiotherapy. It has been specifically designed to develop qualified practitioners who are proactive, flexible and able to meet the changing needs of health and social care. The course is delivered in partnership with Kingston University London, which means you will benefit from a large, multi-faculty experience combined with the health science expertise offered by St George’s.

You will learn via a variety of methods, including classroom-based learning, simulated practical exercises, self-directed learning and practice placements in a variety of healthcare environments including acute NHS hospital trusts, community-based services, mental health trusts and private hospitals. This will help you become proactive, flexible and able to meet the rapidly-changing prerequisites of social and health care. You will develop into a critical thinker and independent learner with problem-solving skills.

This course is fully accredited by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and is available to students from within the UK and internationally.

Qualification requirements

2:1 or higher UK honours degree. This may include (but is not limited to): biology, behavioural science, sports science, physiology, health science, or a health-related profession which ideally contains human anatomy and physiology. The university considers applicants from a variety of backgrounds and international applications are welcome. This course is especially popular in Canada (GPA 3.3), Singapore (GPA 3.3), Hong Kong (2:i) and Malaysia (GPA 3.3)
