The BA (Hons) Musical Theatre degree at Wilkes Academy is a distinctive course offering an established and respected degree alongside excellent vocational training This is a unique degree course that will prepare you to become a successful professional within the performing arts industry.

This practically orientated course supports you to develop and enhance your skills across a range of disciplines within Musical Theatre [acting, singing, dance]. You wil also develop a critical understanding of the workings of the Creative Industries, providing you with the skills and knowledge for your future careers opportunities and choices.

Wilkes Academy offers state of the art facilities for musical theatre study, it is located in Swindon with good transport links to London and the rest of the country.

A wide range of different assessment methods are used throughout the course. You will be given opportunities to try out ideas and approaches and gain feedback throughout formative assessment activities, and then a range of different summative "graded" assessments are included in each modules. These include: Creative outputs professionally presented in the format required by the brief, including performances both live and to camera, featuring full repertoire and showcase material, etc. A reflective journal, discussing your learning journey throughout the module and utilising appropriate reflective theory and frameworks. An essay, report, case study or project plan, written and illustrated to given guidelines and word counts. **Self-assessment, peer review and studio critiques**
