Course Description

The BSc Business Management (Finance) with a Foundation Year is a programme designed for the student who wants to excel and reach the top level of global business management practice but does not yet have the required qualifications.

The four-year course provides students with a broad range of expertise across the areas of business and management (such as marketing, operations, finance, accounting, strategy and human resource management) as well as offering a range of cutting-edge specialist optional modules. The BSc Business Management (Finance) with a Foundation Year, is designed for students who are interested in finance or a finance career but who do not want to take a full Accounting and Finance degree scheme. Students pursue modules on advanced finance topics such as corporate finance, financial innovation and risk management, financial services and international financial management.

The foundation year is taught at The College, on Bay Campus. Located next to the School of Management, The College is the University’s pathway provider and offers a unique learning environment; designed to fully prepare you for the final three years of your degree. Small lecture and seminar classes, state-of-the-art facilities and world-class teaching help you to realise your full academic potential.

As a student of our Business department within the School of Management at Swansea University, you can expect to receive excellent teaching, driven by our world-class academic team of staff and state-of-the-art Bay Campus facilities. Our Business Management degrees are accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), providing you with industry-focused teaching and a wealth of professional skills to enhance your employability on graduation. Our Final Year Projects also enhance your career potential, by working in partnership with real companies on real business-related issues.

About Swansea University

Swansea University was established in 1920 and is located in the large city of Swansea, in Wales. There are two campuses, the flagship campus is located between Singleton Park, with its green parkland and botanical gardens, and Swansea Bay beach.
