Course Description
Our MSc Criminal Investigation cross-disciplinary programme is open to students and practitioners from the investigative arena. You develop your knowledge of contemporary theory and practices in criminal investigation, relevant legislation, and information relating to criminal justice studies and criminal law. This course develops your intellectual capability and enhances your understanding of national and international criminal justice systems.
This course offers a strong academic base and theoretical underpinning. It has a clear focus which emphasizes the importance of relevant legislation, policies and practices, linking them to the overall theme exploring criminal investigation. The dissertation module will enable you to focus on aspects of a criminal investigation of your choice and one, perhaps, not necessarily taught on the course.
Graduates are equipped to work within, or progress their existing careers in, the criminal justice institutions, such as the police, prison and probation services, other investigation-related institutions and organisations, and relevant private sectors.
