Course Description
Through combining chemical with environmental engineering, you will design processes and products that minimise impacts on air, land and water.
As a chemical and environmental engineer you will work with the following areas:
- Disposal of waste
- Environmental compliance – reducing the impact of spills and emissions
- Flooding and drainage
- Infrastructure and development
- Management of pollutants
- Recovery of damaged land (damaged through mining, farming or landfill)
- Water supply and sanitation
- Food and water
- Energy
- Pharmaceuticals

- Oil and gas
We support you to develop the engineering knowledge and professional skills to design the processes that make the products we all rely on. To support your graduate career you will develop transferable skills in:

This course offers the opportunity to undertake a one-year paid industrial placement and/or study abroad.
This degree has been accredited by the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and IOM3 (Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining) under licence from the UK regulator, the Engineering Council.
Accreditation is a mark of assurance that the degree meets the standards set by the Engineering Council in the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC).
