Course Description

Already have a degree, but want to move into medicine and start your journey to become a doctor?

Our four-year Graduate Entry Medicine (GEM) course has been designed specifically for graduates who are ready to embark on a career in medicine.

Based in Derby at the Royal Derby Hospital, the first 18 months of your course will see you develop your understanding of the professional and scientific foundations of medicine. You'll then undertake a series of immersive placements in a range of hospitals and GP surgeries.

With us you'll get the clinical skills you need for a successful career in medicine and still have time to enjoy your university experience.

People with an undergraduate degree in any subject can apply for this course.

Excellent facilities

Learn in purpose-built facilities in the early years of the course at our modern Medical School at the Royal Derby Hospital. You'll be part of a small cohort of students, giving you a close relationship with tutors and colleagues.
