Course Description

This flexible course will develop your knowledge of dental technology and dental materials science. We'll show you how to apply your skills and understanding to your practice of dental technology.

Course description

This course blends traditional techniques with advanced manufacturing techniques, and is well suited to dental technicians and clinical professionals who have suitable training in basic dental technology.

You’ll focus on the provision of highly advanced and technically demanding dental appliances and medical devices. After training in research methods, you’ll conduct a research project of your own.

You’ll develop your understanding of the major dental problems that present themselves to dental technicians and be able to systematically address them. You’ll also develop skills in dental technology and dental materials science and apply them to your practice of dental technology.

Once you’ve graduated, you’ll have a thorough knowledge and understanding of dental biomaterials and you’ll have the skills to critically analyse and assess individual cases and develop practical solutions. You’ll also be able to carry out research and apply key findings to the practice of dental technology.

The course has a flexible modular structure, enabling it to meet a wide range of student needs.
