Course Description

If you are interested in the archaeology of the last 2000 years, or in the archaeology of any society that also has documented history, then our BA in Historical Archaeology is the degree for you. If you are considering a degree in History, but want a course which will make you stand out from the crowd, think about Historical Archaeology. Many of our students have studied history, but also have a passion for historic sites, material culture, museums or hands-on practise.

Accreditation by the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA), working in partnership with University Archaeology UK (UAUK), recognises academic programmes which provide students with appropriate workplace skills relevant to both a career in the historic environment and CIfA membership at Practitioner grade.
