Course Description
The programme is for experienced music leaders, tutors, community musicians, animateurs or any musician working in learning or participatory settings, within or outside of the UK. It is designed for practitioners looking for a sustained training programme that can be completed alongside a professional career. The programme will develop your practical and reflective skills within a theoretical framework and will offer the chance to learn as part of a dynamic community of practice.
The Teaching Musician will broaden and deepen your understanding of learning models and core pedagogy, while supporting you to refine your practical skills through weekend workshops and inspiring work placements.
Please note that this qualification does not offer QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
Entry Requirements / Admissions

•A degree or equivalent training and professional experience; those without a degree level qualification will be asked to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) •Considerable professional experience in music education and/or participatory settings, which should normally be current or recent •Fluent musical skills on your principal instrument/voice (normally grade 8 or equivalent professional experience) •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including English at IELTS 6.5 overall (min. of 6.0 in all areas) or equivalent for international students
