Course Description

Changing health and social care requirements demand knowledgeable and skilled graduates from the health and social care professions. This flexible, distance learning programme will develop the key practice and leadership skills needed for advanced practice roles and responsibilities across all health care professions.

Within your area of expertise, you will develop desired transferrable skills including sound judgement, personal responsibility and initiative, in complex and unpredictable professional environments.

The PGCert route is highly tailored and awarded on completion of 60 credit points. You can choose to study topics including the application of compassionate communication, developing practice through innovation, adult continence promotion and advancing care for people with continence disorders. Other topics include stoma care, urology care and neuroscience care.

The PGDip requires the completion of two additional compulsory modules, Advanced Methods in Research and Development in Health and Social Care and Global Perspectives in Transforming Health. The MSc requires the completion of a further 60 credit, evidence-based project.

For students staying in student halls, costs of water, gas, electricity, wifi are generally included in the rental. Students in smaller cities where accommodation is in walking/biking distance transport costs tend to be significantly smaller.
