Course Description
Our BA (Hons) Interior Design (with Integrated Foundation Year) is a four year degree programme, including a foundation year to help develop your creativity before you embark on year one of a degree.
Looking at real-world challenges to transform interior spaces – both old and new – bridges the gaps between architecture, fine art and spatial practice. This BA (Hons) Interior Design degree course at UCA Canterbury helps you understand and conquer these challenges.
On this course, you’ll work alongside students across our architecture and design portfolio to create a range of plans for various settings, while constantly questioning and considering the role of the designer in contemporary society.
Through experimentation, play and research you’ll engage with design briefs as agents of social, cultural, political, and economic change. You’ll also use laser cutters, 3D printers, a virtual reality lab, a 3D workshop and fully equipped computer studios to enhance your studies.
As a result of this vigorous blend of practical and research-led study, you'll become a confident and innovative interior designer with focus on social responsibility, materiality, specification, and careful control of the holistic human experience, in interior spaces.
As part of the course, you'll benefit from interaction with industry through live project opportunities and masterclasses, building industry-relevant skills to ensure that you graduate ready for the workplace.
