Course Description

The UK's National Cyber Security Strategy identifies software vulnerabilities as a key threat, and building security into software from the start as a national priority. However, most software developers are not security experts, which is the need from industry that needs filled.

Abertay’s BSc (Hons) Cybersecurity is within its renowned School of Design and Informatics. It draws upon Abertay's teaching and research expertise in Ethical Hacking, secure software engineering and human-centred security to ensure that you are well prepared for the rapidly evolving commercial cybersecurity environment.

You will learn how to design and build secure software systems that are resilient to cyberattack. The degree combines computer science, maths, software engineering and cybersecurity. You will gain experience working with desktop, server, mobile and embedded platforms, and learn low-level programming and computer architecture, right from the start of the programme. Our links with Industry and recruitment opportunities are outstanding.

Including a relevant subject/science @ C or above (80 UCAS tariff points)

HNC in Care and Administrative Practice or Applied Science with B required in graded unit for entry to Year 1 Sufficient science and discursive subjects and a strong academic profile to be competitive. English and Maths at least at National 5 Grade B.

31-30 overall or 665-655 in 3 HL subjects.
