Course Description

Study areas including health across the lifespan; physical and mental health; professional practice; legislation and ethics; assessment and management of patients; leadership, management and service improvement.

Develop the practical skills, knowledge, attitudes, skills and behaviours needed to nurse adults professionally and compassionately.

Gain significant practical experience on a course comprising 50% theoretical learning and 50% practical learning – with some of the highest graduate employment rates in the country.

Benefit from a course that will lead you to a challenging and rewarding career as a registered adult nurse in a range of healthcare environments, including community hospital and residential settings, and can provide a route to specialised clinical practice, management or education.

This course enables you to learn in a variety of ways in academic, simulated and actual practice settings. You will experience 50% of your time in practice, supervised by practitioners, who are trained to support your learning, learning to provide care and experience a diverse range of practice settings. 50% of your time will be university based, learning in the classroom, in individual study and simulated practice environments.

You will engage in a Service Improvement Project that will enable you to develop the skills to make a real change to the quality of service provision in practice. You will have support for your learning in theory and practice from a team of lecturers, all of whom are experienced, registered nurses.

Graduates from this course have the knowledge and skills to care for adults in varied multi-professional contexts, collaborating with health colleagues and other services to deliver high quality, evidence based, compassionate nursing care to adults.

Recognised by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) for the purpose of registration as a qualified nurse (adult).
