Course Description
Occupational therapists play a huge role in the well-being of employees in nearly all workplaces across the UK.
Occupational Therapist usually carry a caseload and work with employees of organisations, carers and other professionals to undertake timely individual assessments, produce care plans, review and monitor customers in the context of local guidance, policies, resources and government legislation and work with and/or direct service users to other appropriate services.
Our Occupational Therapy course has been developed especially to provide you with the training and skills you need for a successful career in today’s Occupational Therapy market, whether that ne in the NHS, social services or a private provider.
On successful completion of the course you will be equipped to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), to work as an Occupational Therapist in the UK.
This course sits within our School of Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation where expertise in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, sciences of the anatomy, bio-mechanics, physiology and pathology all come together.
Teaching is informed by research and delivered through lectures, seminars, tutorials and practical classes. You will also take part in debates, student led presentations and workshops alongside periods on clinical practice placements. Our comprehensive curriculum is approved by the (HCPC).
You will learn to assess patients abilities and needs which in turn will allow you formulate occupational rehabilitation plans and implement therapeutic treatments, leading to you graduating as a professional in your field.
