Course Description
Our accredited Geography BA(Hons) is at the intersection of the climate crisis, environmental politics and transformative social change. It focuses equally on human geography and environmental geography.
You’ll explore a range of live issues including climate change adaptation, protesting inequalities, LGBTQ and feminist activism, building sustainable societies, global development, and the politics of popular culture.
Elements of physical geography featured on our BSc programme can also be incorporated to give you a broad foundation in the subject, and you can tailor the course to your career aspirations through module choices.
Learning with a course team of active researchers you’ll build on the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom and the lab through field work. Field trip locations include the South Downs, Morocco, Norfolk, and an optional trip to Brazil.
The option of a placement year and visiting lecturers from industry will give you a feel for what the working world is like. Alongside this you’ll also develop transferable skills in presentation and teamwork – all helping you to get career-ready.
This programme has been accredited by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG).

Additional fee information
Please note that the £13,842 international fee is for classroom based courses and provisional for 2023. For lab based courses a higher fee of £14,892 applies. EU students will be charged international fees unless they have settled status awarded by the UK Government's Settlement Scheme.
Further tuition fees are payable for each subsequent year of study and are subject to an annual increase of no more than 5% or RPI (whichever is the greater). The annual increase for UK/EU students, who are subject to regulated fees, will increase no more than the statutory maximum fee.
The tuition fee you have to pay depends on a number of factors including the kind of course you take, and whether you study full-time or part-time. If you are studying part-time you will normally be charged on a pro rata basis depending on the number of modules you take. If your course includes a sandwich year option you will pay a reduced fee during this year; £1,370 for home students and £2,120 for international students.
