Course Description
Explore all aspects of animals, their ecology, evolution, behaviour, structure and management.
Zoology involves the study of the structure and function of animals, biodiversity and ecology of ecosystems and conservation biology.
This knowledge is essential in order to understand, protect and manage species, habitats and ecosystems. The course aims to provide you with a wide skillset, and covers both local and global terrestrial and aquatic zoological issues whilst encouraging both a theoretical and applied approach to the subject.
This course offers great opportunities for those interested in environment and species management or in becoming part of the global scientific community. Our staff have both national and international practitioner and research experience, and use this when delivering teaching.
You will be taught by lecturers with specialist expertise in a number of growing areas of conservation, behaviour and welfare science. And, as well as the national and international field course, there are further options for studying and researching abroad as part of your degree; recent research trips have included South Africa, the Philippines and Madagascar.

About University of Chester
The University of Chester, as the name suggests, is a university located in Chester. The university is formally affiliated with the Christian faith, but they make it clear in their mission statement that students of all faiths or no faith at all are welcome at their university. Chester operates from a total of six campuses, five of which are in Chester, the other in Warrington, with the main campus building being known as Parkgate Road Campus.
