Course Description
Archaeology is the study of how people in the past interacted with their world, through a detailed study of their objects, sites, monuments and landscapes. You will have the opportunity to gain practical fieldwork skills in the UK and also abroad. Recent students have worked in the Baltic states, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy and Portugal. Earth Science is the study of the Earth system, in particular the interaction of geology with surface processes and environments, and associated natural and anthropogenic changes. Earth Science focuses on the study of climate change, water resources, landscape evolution, environmental and natural hazards, and the application of Earth system science and geology to real world socio-environmental problems. You will take part in an exciting fieldwork programme which includes both overseas locations and UK based field sites with many one day visits to local sites.
