Course Description
CENTRAL & EAST EUROPEAN STUDIES: - You will study the history, economics, politics and sociology of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.The University is a hub for a government-funded Centre of Excellence for Russian, Central & East European Studies, so there are cultural, social and academic events throughout the year. SOCIAL & PUBLIC POLICY: - Social & Public Policy focuses on social problems such as poverty, homelessness and ill-health. The programme applies ideas from political science, sociology and economics to explore how governments shape their responses, and to understand the impacts of public policy on society. You’ll have the valuable opportunity of a work placement with a voluntary or public sector organisation.

Additional requirements: A-level English or Humanities subject.
Pass HNC Group Award in the appropriate subject area and also obtain grade A in the Graded Unit. Must also have Higher English at grade B or above and successfully pass the University of Glasgow Summer School.
Pass HND Group Award in the appropriate subject area and also obtain grades BB in the Graded Units 1 and 2. Must also have Higher English at grade B or above and successfully pass the University of Glasgow Summer School.
Additional requirements: Higher English and a Higher Humanities subject or Mathematics.
Acceptable in appropriate subject area. Must pass at least two thirds of modules at merit grade.
38 (6,6,6 HL) – 32 (6,5,5 HL) Additional requirements: HL English or Humanities subject.
Acceptable in appropriate subject area.
Must have two Arts/Humanities subjects at H1 and Mathematics at H3.
SQA applicants who achieve less than AAAAB by the end of S5 but achieved at least BBBB MAY receive a conditional offer, but a decision will not be made on these applications until April once all applications have been reviewed. Conditional offers to these applicants will require them to achieve AAAAB cumulatively by the end of S6.
