Course Description

This two-year programme is designed to develop your understanding of the role and use of accounting within business and business decision making. You will cover accounting techniques and explore how to prepare financial statements for different types of business enterprise. Additionally, it will develop your understanding of the role of business in society and develop knowledge of the main functional areas; marketing and human resources.

This pathway will provide you with specialist knowledge of the main theories and practices of how organisations are financed, the allocation and management of financial resources within companies and the role of accounting as a guiding mechanism for managerial decision-making. Live pathway specific projects are common in the learning journey.

You are not required to have prior knowledge of business studies or accounting before choosing this subject. You will gain a broad introduction to the subject in your first year and study more specialist subjects in the second year.
