Course Description

This course is designed to provide the educational base to become professionally recognised as a chartered engineer. The course covers the breadth of civil engineering including the mainstream subjects such as Structural Analysis and Design, Hydraulics, Geotechnics, and Materials, as well as the underpinning mathematics, and specialist subjects such as Sustainabilty, Environmental Engineering, and Structural Fire Engineering. The course is structured to provide a BEng(Hons) award after three years, with the opportunity to progress to the fourth year and obtain an MEng award. An optional Sandich placement year is included between levels 5 and 6. The Master’s year will provide greater breadth, and a more in-depth understanding of the subject. This programme is offered in partnership with the world-renowned BRE, giving you access to specialist facilities, projects and lectures.
