Course Description
A MEng degree in Mechatronic Engineering allows you to combine mechanical skills, smart electronics, and robotics with control systems to address a range of complex engineering projects. As a professional mechatronic engineer, you’ll get involved in the design of functional products, from large aircraft all the way to robotic manufacturing lines. Graduates with advanced engineering training are set to become key influencers and industry leaders overseeing the transformation of a sustainability-focused future.
This course sets out to deepen your understanding in the key principles and practices of several disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, electronic, control and computer systems. These academic disciplines are supplemented with the further development of your skills in creative thinking and creating practical design solutions, two skills essential to the professional engineer.
You’ll study a range of fascinating advanced modules, which include:
- Manufacturing Systems Automation
- Advanced Static Analysis
- Modelling of Electromechanical Systems.
Following your second year, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in an optional industry work placement, where you’ll put your knowledge into practice and boost your post-graduate employability.

The University of Huddersfield is a research university which is maintained through public funding, based in Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, England.
