Course Description

Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, this course is designed for people who have with a strong interest in marketing – but who also want to train for management. It’s ideal if you want to become a creative, strategic decision maker who’s capable of delivering imaginative solutions to business problems.

At Hull, as part of the Hull University Business School, you’ll study the latest marketing and management concepts, work on live business project for international brands and be fully supported by passionate and expert staff, who offer practical, hands on experience.

This course prepares you for a range of careers.

You’ll learn to understand consumer behaviour through marketing intelligence and analytics and how to harness the power digital marketing and social media. And you'll prepare for the challenge of staying up to date with the unpredictable, fast-paced business world. It's designed to train you into a strategic decision-maker and an inventive problem-solver.

Taking part in our programme of live business projects will deepen and test your marketing skills, confidence and knowledge of marketing concepts. This year, as part of the annual marketing challenge, students had the chance to work with Team GB with the challenge of creating a marketing strategy to keep fans engaged between Olympic Games.

You’ll also have the opportunity to take part in a placement year to gain valuable work experience- and get paid. Recent companies who have worked with our students include Siemens Games, Jaguar Land Rover, IBM and Sony. You’re supported throughout by our friendly tutors and professional staff. Not bad for enhancing the CV.

Our students have also been supported to achieve success in the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s national competition, ‘The Pitch’ (reaching the national finals). As we’re accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), that means you’ll be eligible for student membership. You can get exemptions from professional qualifications, access to a wider marketing network and invitations to professional marketing events.
