Set in 600 acres of countryside in North Staffordshire, we have one of the largest and most beautiful campuses in Britain. Designing the user experience for any modern software system requires the ability to program the web and to create compelling mobile apps. At Keele, you will learn how to do this and can tailor your degree to your interests. You will learn to use the most current frameworks and you'll gain recognition of your expertise in the title of your final award.
You’ll learn to use technology to create new opportunities and to solve a wide range of problems, benefiting every aspect of society from the home to business, government and beyond.
Our teaching is informed by our cutting-edge research, and we also reflect what’s happening now in industry. There’s a strong emphasis on programming – but don’t worry if you don’t have A Level Mathematics because the course covers what you need to know. You’ll have access to our own computing labs, based on Microsoft Windows and Linux, plus a wide range of software. Our excellent central location is ideal for industrial placements, with over 40 companies situated on the Keele Science Park alone.
Web and Mobile Application Development have become key areas of growth in the technology industry, and an essential employability skill for a computer science graduate. This specialism provides a practical understanding of the development lifecycle for web and mobile applications and covers a wide range of areas which may include:

Mobile app development for a range of devices and platforms including Android

Implementation of secure, distributed multi-tier web applications using current and emerging technologies

London costs approx 34% more than average, mainly due to rent being 67% higher than average of other cities. For students staying in student halls, costs of water, gas, electricity, wifi are generally included in the rental. Students in smaller cities where accommodation is in walking/biking distance transport costs tend to be significantly smaller.

About University of Keele
Established in 1949, Keele University is located in the rural setting of the large town of Newcastle under Lyme. The university’s facilities are all within walking distance from the centre of campus, including Union Square where students can find a Pharmacy, the Library, and even a student Post Office.
