Foundation Year

Our Foundation Year provides an excellent alternative route to Keele, providing a unique opportunity to better prepare for your chosen degree, and with guaranteed entry onto your undergraduate course once you successfully complete your Foundation Year. This extra year of study can improve your academic skills, expand your subject knowledge, give you a better understanding of higher education and, perhaps most importantly of all, build your confidence. On the Keele Foundation Year, you'll study on campus, joining our undergraduate community from the outset, with access to all the facilities and support that you'd get as an undergraduate student at Keele.

This course provides a secure grounding in the principles, doctrines, and application of law and the intellectual traditions and perspectives that underpin business as a distinctive discipline. You will learn the key principles and doctrines underlying English, European and International law and develop an understanding of its social, political, historical, and comparative contexts.

Your study of law will also help you to develop a well-informed approach to problem solving, something which is important to a successful career in law or business. Your business modules, taught in Keele Business School, will provide you with a firm foundation from which to engage with business in a global context. You will develop a keen appreciation of the relationship between law and business at a theoretical level, and how law influences workplace and business practices, to help equip you for a career in law or business.

Established in 1949, Keele University is located in the rural setting of the large town of Newcastle under Lyme. The university’s facilities are all within walking distance from the centre of campus, including Union Square where students can find a Pharmacy, the Library, and even a student Post Office.
