The Foundation Year offers an opportunity for students to enter a degree course in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences who do not meet the necessary criteria for direct entry. This is often because they have not studied the subjects required or because they have gained non-traditional qualifications. The programme of modules is tailored to the student’s chosen degree route.

Public Health After you have completed your Foundation Year, you could progress on to the Public Health course. The Public Health BSc (Hons) degree focuses on improving the health of entire communities and populations by identifying how to manage killer epidemics, improving physical, social and mental health outcomes and the wellbeing of people across local, regional, national and international populations, with emphasis on reducing health inequalities.
