Course Description

This programme is grounded in evidence-based principles of teaching and learning, and taught through a series of practical sessions, interactive seminars and workshops. Learning will take place in our excellent SportsPark facilities with extensive resources and equipment, as you examine a range of pedagogical approaches to PE teaching and learning.

Get advice on which foundation courses are best for you to still study PGCE Secondary Physical Education, PGCE, if you do not meet the minimum requirements in terms of UCAS score, A levels, or English language requirements.

IELTS Requirement: 6.5 overall with no element less than 5.5 (or equivalent). Entry requirements: You are normally required to have at least a 2:1 honours degree (or equivalent from a university outside the UK) in a subject that is related to the subject you intend to teach. You will need to have achieved Grade 4 (or C) or above in GCSE Mathematics and English Language or equivalent qualifications. You will also need to demonstrate competence in Fundamental English and mathematics by the end of the course. This is a new DfE requirement which replaces the QTS skills tests in literacy and numeracy. If you accept an offer with us you will also be required to successfully complete Occupational Health and Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Disclosure checks.

London costs approx 34% more than average, mainly due to rent being 67% higher than average of other cities. For students staying in student halls, costs of water, gas, electricity, wifi are generally included in the rental. Students in smaller cities where accommodation is in walking/biking distance transport costs tend to be significantly smaller.
