Course Description
Our Sports Science programme is for individuals interested in the science underpinning all aspects of human performance. The course aims to develop your skills in analysing and evaluating performance and providing interventions within the traditional (including exercise physiology, psychology, biomechanics and nutrition) and the contemporary sports science disciplines (such as performance analysis and strength and conditioning).
This excellent course offers you the chance to study in a department equipped with its own human performance laboratories, performance analysis facilities, and strength and conditioning suite for testing, analysing, and training.
We take an applied approach to our programme delivery, drawing on cutting edge research and decades of practitioner experience, to give you the transferable skills to make a difference in the field of sports science.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

We consider the National Foundation Diploma for entry, preferably in a subject relevant to this course. Entry requirements are based on achievement of the full National Foundation Diploma with a Distinction grade, PLUS one A-level at Grade A in an essay-based arts, humanities or social science subject, PLUS an EPQ or AS at Grade B.

BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate: D plus AB in two A Levels to include English. Preferred:- Performing Arts, Art & Design, Digital Film and Video Production,Business IT, Applied Science,Sport, Sport and Exercise Science
Five GCSEs at grade C or 4 (or above) required. Must include English Language, Mathematics and a Science. UK Equivalencies (such as Key Skills/ Functional Skills level 2 Numeracy/ Literacy) are accepted. Applicants with non UK qualifications will need to meet the minimum GCSE requirements with a satisfactory GCSE equivalent qualification.
