Course Description

If you do not have the right subjects or grades to enrol directly onto our BSc (Hons) Computer Forensics degree, this BCS-accredited Foundation Year offers an alternative route into degree study. This extra introductory year will give you the grounding you need to begin degree-level study. The foundation year focuses on the study of computing and mathematics in order to provide a good numerical background that will support you throughout the remainder of the degree.

On this practical and well respected Computer Forensics degree, you’ll study topics that include the computer forensic process, tools and procedures, understanding digital evidence, cryptography, information security, law and ethics, and computer crime. By graduation, you’ll be able to manage a forensic case and perform technical analysis of computer-based evidence. Course content is informed by our consultancy and research work. We’ve handled cases for law enforcement and government. You’ll be trained in courtroom skills and learn how to give evidence in a court of law. You will also have the opportunity to achieve AccessData Certified Examiner status as part of your studies, which is an industry-recognised qualification.

This Computer Forensics course is based at our Treforest campus. USW Treforest is surrounded by green open spaces.
